Many RC racing car enthusiasts are unaware that there is also a burgeoning world of RC truck racing, and in some parts of the country, RC truck racing, both on road and off, is eclipsing the popularity of RC car racing.

In addition, there are entire lines of RC trucks designed specifically for the world of RC truck racing.  These trucks are usually built using a smaller body style, and they are generally designed to be lighter in weight so that they may achieve higher speeds and more precise control.  To race off road RC trucks well, you will need to find the perfect balance between a rugged truck and a lightweight truck.

Off road RC trucks are often raced on specially designed dirt race tracks, and often these race tracks come complete with jumps and other obstacles as well.  Some RC truck race tracks are designed to include mud puddles, ramps and other challenges to make the race more exciting, challenging and fun.

In addition to these challenging RC truck race tracks, there are race tracks designed in the same manner as the tracks for RC cars.  These courses are designed to highlight and reward speed alone, and these races generally take place on the pavement instead of in the mud.

Finding the best RC racing truck

There are many different styles and models of RC racing trucks, for both on track and off road use.  It is important to first determine what kind of racing you intend to do, and to choose the type of truck that best meets your needs.

For instance, if you plan to race primarily on paved tracks you will want to find a truck that is lightweight, with a powerful motor and precise handling.  You may be able to give up a bit of ruggedness and durability in order to achieve the speed it will take to win on the paved tracks.

If, however, you intend to race off road, ruggedness and durability will be the primary considerations.  After all, you will not be able to win the race if you don’t finish.  While it will still be important to get a lightweight and fast RC truck, it will be just as important to make sure the truck can survive the biggest obstacles and the harshest conditions.
