I ordered this hovercraft for a university project, but I’m still a kid at heart. When I first unwrapped and assembled the hovercraft, I was disappointed to see how the previous review was right and that the hovercraft did not accelerate, even on hardwood floor. However, after charging the hovercraft’s battery and buying a new 9V battery for the controller (remember, this product is made in china), it worked spectacularly! It spun and drove on the hardwood floor with ease. This hovercraft is not meant to be used on carpet since the skirt is made of rubber, causing lots of friction between it and the carpet. All the components work wonderfully, it’s just not available for use right out of the box.

I purchased this for my 5 year old son. He is fascinated with Air Hogs because of the commercials and website, and this is his first Air Hog product. It is a disappointment. We have wood floors throughout our house, and only the family room has an area rug. The Hovercraft can barely move on the wood floor. It doesn’t work at all on the rug. We tried it outside in the driveway and on the grass, it doesn’t work on any of those surfaces either. We gave up on using it for now, maybe we will try it in the water, but this is highly unlikely. I am sorry that I bought it and my son has no interest in it. I probably will not buy any Air Hog product in the future.
